2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
Single Vineyard Reserve
Distinct, opulent flavors. Full bodied, bold, luscious acidity and minerality. Hints of cherry.
Born of Rich Volcanic Soil
Obsidian is abundant on the grounds of Seiler Estate, and weaves deep into the soils of the vineyard. It provides an exceptional terroir that imbues our grapes with a rich minerality and full bodied flavor that sets the wine apart from anywhere else in the Napa Valley.
Obsidian is a unique lava that forms when the silica content is very high and the water content is low. The lava must cool quickly, and when it does, it creates a luscious, black, glass-like stone, free of crystal formations or bubbles.
Glass Mountain was once the armory of the Wappo natives, who used the obsidian’s mirror-like sharp edges to create elaborate multi-edged arrowheads for weapons. There is an archaeological site behind the wine cellar on Seiler Estate where the Wappo made their weapons.
Watered from Crystal Springs
Our vineyards are watered by a high capacity 260 gallon a minute well that draws directly from Crystal Springs.
Hand Cultivated
The vineyards of Seiler Estate have been hand tended by Francisco Alfaro and family, who have cared for the vines since they were first planted over 23 years ago.
